Rahul is no match for Modi, says Muralidhar

Accusing Congress of targeting Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for political mileage, the BJP on Sunday said the plan of the Congress to defame Modi and show AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi as the hope of the nation will never succeed as Rahul can never match the ‘invincible’ Modi.

Speaking at the BJP Yuva Morcha meet here on Sunday, BJP general secretary P Muralidhar Rao said Rahul has only book knowledge and lacks practical knowledge to lead the country. On the other hand, Modi has passed the ‘agni pareeksha’ many times and has led the party thrice to victory in Gujarat.

He has all the qualities of an able leader and the people of the country want him to lead the nation to next level, he remarked.

“Modi is a proven leader and has done a wonderful job in Gujarat, whereas Rahul still looks confused and depends mainly on others’ advice. Speaking in Parliament and taking help from books and colleagues will not help him become an able leader. He has to prove himself in the real world of politics, which he has not done till now. I don’t know how people could compare him with Modi,” he said.

Accusing Congress of adopting blackmailing tactics, the senior leader alleged that the Congress was misleading the people of the country on the ‘puppy’ remark by Modi on the 2002 Gujarat riots. The Congress was distorting his comments and trying to present him as a villain, he said.

The people of the country want Modi to be the next prime minister of the country and no one can stop it, he remarked.

BJP state president G Kishan Reddy said the Congress has developed Modi phobia and was so afraid of him that it was trying to stop Modi by adopting false propaganda against him. Congress keep on raising 2002 Godhra riots issue to target Modi, but what about the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and Dalit riots of Hyderabad, engineered by the Congress, he questioned.

He urged the youth to attend in large numbers the meeting to be addressed by Modi here on August 11.BJP Yuva Morcha State president S Vishnuvardhan Reddy and others were present.
