the chief minister also reviewed the water levels in various reservoirs.

He asked the chief secretary to ensure that the district collectors  take up immediate steps for rescue and relief measures in the low-lying areas and to form special teams for assessment of crop and property damage.

All the district collectors in Telangana region too were told to keep a close watch on the situation round the clock and take preventive measures.

According to official information, eight deaths have occurred in the state so far — four in Karimnagar, two in Khammam, one each in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad — due to floods or rains. 1,124 house were damaged — 108 fully, 513 severely and 503 partially. Four relief camps for 2,000 people were set up in Nizamabad.
