Two die as tipper hits bike

Two persons were killed in a road accident at Mangampet in the district on Wednesday. One of the deceased was on a visit to his native all the way from Dubai reportedly to cast his vote in the ongoing panchayat elections. He reportedly died with his friend.

According to the police, the deceased were identified as K Venugopal Reddy (24) and Ashwanth Reddy (21)who hailed from Raghavarajupuram of Railway Kodur mandal.

They were headed towards Mangampet when a tipper coming in the opposite direction hit their vehicle near Kotha Agraharam in Mangampet. The duo suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.

Venugopal Reddy was put up in Dubai after having secured a job there. His family members claimed that he came to his native place to cast his vote in the ongoing panchayat elections apart from attending to some other works he had.

The second deceased, Ashwanth Reddy, was pursuing his chartered accountancy course from a private college in Vijayawada. Police have registered a case.
