Dismissing the reports in a section of the media that the Congress high command will remove chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, two ministers from Seemandhra felt changing the chief minister at this juncture was not so easy.

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat, minor irrigation minister TG Venkatesh said, “If the Congress high command wanted to convene the CLP meeting and conduct voting to decide the new chief minister, it will lose valuable time,” Venkatesh felt.

If the Congress leadership is wise enough, it would not create any rupture at this juncture, the minister  said.

The Congress announced Telangana state without including it in the manifesto. It was a mistake, Venkatesh said and felt that it would not commit another mistake by changing the chief minister.

He said that they would plan a “Challo Delhi” programme after November 18, once the chief minister submitted his report to the Centre. “We will besiege Delhi with huge numbers,” he said.

Another minister Erasu Pratap Reddy said it was not possible to change the chief minister with a single line resolution in the CLP. He said they would not accept the change of guard. Minister S Sailajanath said the chief minister’s Delhi trip was cancelled on Thursday as he had to attend the Children’s Film Festival in the city.
