Is underworld don Dawood Ibrahim backing drug exports from Hyderabad to other countries? The Special Operation Team (SOT) of the Cyberabad Police and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in a joint operation on Thursday, busted a drug racket and arrested six of its members at Jeedimetla and Balanagar here. The cops seized about 11 kg Methaphetamine, valued at Rs. 2 crore, Rs. 15 lakh cash, eight mobile phones and a four-wheeler from them. The police suspect one of the arrested, Abdul Aziz alias Chennai Dawood, had been serving as a conduit to Dawood’s close aides. The arrested were found to be exporting drugs to Singapore, Dubai and Malayasia through Chennai. Abdul Aziz is said to be the kingpin of their India operations.
The gang members were found cooking Meth at Balaji Labs. The police also seized a few “reactors” of Carmol Drugs Pvt Ltd at IDA Jeedimetla. The arrested were identified as Shiva Kumar alias Raju (34), a resident of Girinagar, Abdul Aziz (45), a resident of Pune, Ismail Shaik (45), an auto driver from Pune, Kamma Srinivas (31), Pojari Murali Krishna (30), owners of Balaji Chemicals in Jeedimetla and residents of Gajularamaram, and Lack Singh alias Lucky (24), a hawala operator and servant at Aravind alias Sankar of Kesariya Novelties, Begum Bazar.
