Rayalaseema Parirakhsna Samiti party president Byreddy Rajasekahar Reddy on Friday called upon people to ‘eliminate’ people’s representatives from Rayalaseema who had cheated them. It was, however, not clear what he meant by ‘eliminate’. Byreddy, who began a 48-hour fast near the Kondareddy Buruju on Friday, demanded that Kurnool be made the capital of Seemandhra state. He contended that the Rayalaseema would suffer more losses than Andhra in the residual new Andhra state after the formation of the Telangana. The people of the region were being used as sacrificial goats by the Andhra region people in the agitation, he added.

“We are trying to explain to the people the need for justice to Rayalaseema and that could be done only if a new Rayalaseema state is formed by trifurcating AP” Byreddy said and added ‘’Whatever the Centre does with regard to Telangana, we won’t oppose it, but we want a Rayalaseema state with its capital in any of the four districts”. He further said: ‘’We are ready to sacrifice our lives for a Rayalaseema state; This is the aim of the RPS.’’ He called upon agitators from Rayalaseema region to fight only for their region and not for Samaikhyandhra.
