Srisailam Gets Heavy Inflows

KURNOOL: Srisailam reservoir received heavy inflows from both Jurala project of Krishna river and Sunkesula project of Tungabhadra river on Sunday.

“This year, nearly 165 tmc of water has reached the Srisailam reservoir with the continuous inflows from both the projects, and due to the huge flood water from Tungabadhra river”, said an official  Manik Rao.

At present, 179.899 tmc of water is stored in Srisailam reservoir with 878.40 ft of water as against the full reservoir level (FRL) of 885 ft in the dam.

“In another two days, huge inflows are expected and the excess water will be released to Nagarjuna Sagar. For the last two weeks, the reservoir is receiving inflows from both Jurala and Sunkesula, due to which both the projects have heavy flood water from its uppper streams” Rao explained.
