MACHILIPATNAM: ACB officials trapped the deputy tahsildar of Mandavalli mandal in the district, Silva Joji, when he was accepting bribe here Tuesday.
According to the information, Peddireddi Maridayya of Mandavalli mandal approached the revenue divisional officials for permission to start a gas agency. The revenue divisional officials forwarded his application to the tahsildar, for his consent. As the tahsildar was on leave for the last two days, Maridayya approached deputy tahsildar Silva Joji, who allegedly demanded `14,000 for issuing the permit.
Maridayya then approached the ACB officials, who caught the deputy tahsildar red-handed while accepting the bribe.
