Andhra Ratna Bhavan Set for APCC Independence Day Fete

The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee is celebrating Independence Day at the Andhra Ratna Bhavan in the city Friday.

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) is celebrating Independence Day at the Andhra Ratna Bhavan (Congress party office) in the city Friday.

APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy, PCC former president Botcha Satyanarayana, party senior leaders KVP Ramachandra Rao, Chiranjeevi and J Seelam will take part in the celebrations. According to city Congress chief Meesala Rajeswara Rao, the party leaders are planning to make the Andhra Ratna Bhavan as the state party headquarters, in the wake of bifurcation.

It may be recalled here that the Congress leaders used to celebrate the Independence Day at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad, in the erstwhile combined state of Andhra Pradesh. Former minister Devineni Rajashekar and his son Avinash were monitoring the arrangements. Meanwhile, the Andhra Ratna Bhavan was painted in tri-colour and the leaders are expecting that PCC president Raghuveera Reddy would take crucial decisions on the party’s responsibilities in the future. “The flag hoisting ceremony will be held between 8.30 and 9 am.
