Dwaraka Tirumala to be a Tourist Spot

ELURU: The district administration has decided to develop famous pilgrim centre Dwaraka Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara Swamy known as Chinna Tirupati, as a tourist spot.

The decision came in as chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in his recent visit to the sacred shrine, assured to develop it in all fronts.

Participating in the District Tourism Promotion Committee meeting conducted here Tuesday, collector Katamaneni Bhaskar said that the sacred shrine has many spots that has the potential to attract tourists if developed.

“A tourist information centre will also be started in Bhimadolu with the details of temples and tourist spots in and around Dwaraka Tirumala for the convenience of pilgrims,” he said.

The mega tourism circuit between Bhadrachalam, Papikondalu and Pattiseema would be completed on schedule, he said and added that steps will be taken to introduce boat ride in Kolleru Lake.

District revenue officer KP Rao, Social Welfare department joint director RM Rao, Endowments department assistant commissioner Satyanartayana, assistant tourism officer Pattabhi and others were present at the meet.
