Naidu Takes Part in Survey; Power Star Does the Opposite

HYDERABAD: The one-day intensive household survey held by the Telangana government made both commoners and celebrities wait for enumerators expectantly, at their respective homes on Tuesday. Responding patiently to the questionnaire administered by the enumerators, the VVIPs furnished relevant documents and divulged their details. Though he could not show up before the enumerators due to the ongoing budget session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu made it a point to get him and his family members enlisted in the survey. When the enumerators paid a visit to his residence at Jubilee Hills, Naidu’s personal staff swiftly furnished all the details regarding Naidu and his family.

The enumerators said they had finished the survey at Naidu’s residence like any other household, without any hiccups. True to the newly-established thaw between the Chandra-duo, it turned out to be an another gesture from Naidu of rapprochement with his Telangana counterpart K Chandrashekara Rao and his government. Meanwhile, with a posse of officials in tow, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Somesh Kumar himself turned into an enumerator and knocked on the Governor’s Rajbhavan door. Along with his family members, Governor ESL Narasimhan enthusiastically presented all relevant documents to the officials and got himself and his family enlisted in the ‘Telangana census’. Congress MP and film star K Chiranjeevi patiently responded to the questionnaire administered by the enumerators and furnished all relevant documents for the purpose when survey personnel stepped into his house at Jubilee Hills here. Similarly, film hero and scion of TDP founder NT Rama Rao’s family, Jr NTR who is revelling in his new role of a father, got his infant son Abhay Ram and wife Lakshmi Pranathi enlisted in the survey and helped the enumerators with all the documents.

However, true to his image of a ‘different’ person, Jana Sena boss Pawan Kalyan, who had fired salvos at Telangana chief minister KCR previously, had refused to divulge his details when the survey personnel knocked on his door on Tuesday. Yesteryears actor Vijayashanthi, who picked holes in the initiatives of the KCR’s government, also stayed away from the household survey by turning away the enumerators who visited her house. Former Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, who is currently in a self-imposed political exile, had not taken part in the household survey. When the enumerators tried to step into his house for collecting the required information, at Jubilee Hills, they found the former Congress MP’s door locked. Meanwhile, Telangana ministers T Harish Rao and Jogu Ramanna participated in the intensive household survey at their respective home towns in Medak and Adilabad.
