‘Alternative Fuel Need of the Hour’

VIJAYAWADA: Divisional Engineer (DE) of APSPDCL, Vijayawada, N Venkateswarlu said that fuel resources are the backbone for a country’s development and that citizens of the country should use all the fuel resources judicially.

Addressing a programme organised by the AP State Council of Science and Technology (APCOST) on the occasion of world renewable energy day as a chief guest at the regional science centre (RSC) here Wednesday, the DE stressed the importance of saving the fuel resources from being wasted.

“Fuel resources play an important role in revival of economic situation in the country. Therefore more focus should be on finding alternative and renewable fuel resources, apart from curbing its wastage,” he explained and said that solar energy was an effective alternative.

Regional officer of RSC JD Rao said that future generations will not have electricity supply if immediate action against wastage of energy resource are not taken.

About 140 students and teachers from various schools in the city participated.
