ELURU: A girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her room Wednesday, reportedly unable to bear harassment by some people.

According to III Town police, Regada Renuka (18) of Satrampadu was a first year B.Sc student of CRR College.

Two youths Teja and Kiran reportedly used to harass her every day on her way to college. Some days ago, Renuka lodged a complaint with the police, following which the police warned the duo against harassing her.

However, Wednesday, the two followed her despite being warned by the police and allegedly passed lewd comments. Unable to bear it anymore, Renuka rushed home and hanged herself from the ceiling fan.

Police have registered a case and are investigating. The body has been sent for postmortem.
