VISAKHAPATNAM: Clearance of pending layout regularisation scheme (LRS) applications with Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) would be taken up soon after receiving orders from the government granting extension of time, said VUDA chief urban planner RJ Vidyullatha.

Stating that about 6,345 applications were pending with the VUDA for further action,  the VUDA has forwarded a request seeking extension of time for disposing of the applications, she added. In a release, Vidyullatha said that the VUDA had received a total of 20,319 applications till May 31, 2013 under the LRS for regularisation of plots in unauthorised layouts in the VUDA area among which 8,746 were approved and 5,300 were rejected for ineligibility.

The remaining 6,345 applications have been pending with the VUDA.

Among these pending applications, 5,610 applicants were told to fulfil certain shortfalls of submitting documents and payment of balance fees and the rest of 735 were under process, she said while detailing the status of the pending applications.

The Chief Urban Planner said that further process of the pending applications would be taken up after the orders were received from the government and timeline set by the  government.

Meanwhile, the applicants who received communication on the shortfalls from the VUDA can submit documents, but the decision and the process of pending applications would be taken up as per the government orders, the chief urban planner said.
