State Tops All-India BSNL Kabaddi Tourney

VIJAYAWADA: The valedictory function of the 14th All India BSNL Kabaddi Tournament was organised at the railway mini stadium here Friday. As chief guest on the occasion, VMC commissioner C Hari Kiran said that kabaddi was one of the interesting games and gaining a lot of importance along with cricket.

The three-day tournament concluded Friday and Andhra Pradesh with 48 points stood first followed by Karnataka which scored 25.  Senior general manager (HR), AP Telecom Circle Hyderabad, George Santhosh Marshall congratulated the winning team. Later, Hari Kiran distributed prizes to the winners and the runner-up trophy to the Karnataka team followed by Rajasthan and Haryana teams.

Andhra Pradesh team captain K Srinivas was named the best all-rounder and best rider Hawasingh of the Haryana team. 

Krishna Dist Football Championship

The annual football league championship will be conducted by the Krishna District Football Association for A, B and C divisions from September 4. All the private clubs, institutions, colleges, high schools and all affiliates to the association can participate. The competitions for B division will be held from September 4 to 11 at the Indira Gandhi municipal stadium and only college teams are eligible for this division league.
