VISAKHAPATNAM: The second day of the prestigious 12th national Programme for Environmental Awareness in Schools (PEAS) of Timpany School, Visakhapatnam, was conducted at the CMR Central here Friday.

Students of the school took part in the awareness campaign by conducting a flash mob, which enthralled the audience and sent a message on the current environmental situation. Through the flash mob, the students described the harm the environment is being subjected to and the need to conserve it for future generations.

Expressing their happiness over being a part of the programme, the students exhorted the people to use natural resources judiciously. The organisers said that the PEAS programme was an initiative from Timpany schools, which is being conducted annually since 2002. Timpany School chairman Ken Gnanakam said that the event started Thursday.

Cultural programmes, quiz and  environmental programmes were conducted apart from the flash mob. An environmental awareness rally will be also conducted Saturday as part of the PEAS programme.
