Biometric System for Welfare Hostels

VISAKHAPATNAM: The social welfare hostels are gearing up for advanced biometric systems to be installed on their premises.

Social welfare minister R Kishore Babu introduced the concept as part of which he distributed laptops and biometric machines to the wardens of the hostels here Sunday.

Addressing the mediamen later, Kishore Babu said that the 1,600 SC/ST hostels in the state would benefit from the biometric system.

In the first phase, the system will be introduced in 999 hostels, which will be provided with laptops and biometric machines. He also promised to develop the hostels with all the required facilities in the coming days.

Labour minister K Atchannaidu, wardens from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts were present.
