CCM Inspects Amenities at Guntur Railway Station

GUNTUR: South Central Railway, Guntur division, chief commercial manager G Laxminarayan inspected various commercial depots, including unreserved ticketing system (UTS) counters of booking, enquiry, passenger waiting halls, milk stalls and other passenger amenities on PF-1 at the railway station in the city Saturday.

The CCM expressed satisfaction over cleanliness at the station and made suggestions for further improvement in the facilities. He also reviewed the performance of commercial branch of Guntur division with special focus on passenger traffic and providing better facilities to passengers at stations.

Laxminarayan conducted a surprise ticket checking on various trains with 28 ticket checking staff from the squads of Guntur, Giddalur and Tejaswini (women’s wing) on the Guntur-Nalgonda and Guntur-Vijayawada sections. During the checks spread over 17 trains, as many as 121 passengers were found travelling without tickets, 97 more with irregular tickets and 67 persons carrying luggage with them beyond permissible limits. An amount of `83,870 was collected from them as fine.

Senior DCM, Guntur, C Ramakrishna, ACMs AG Venkatesan and Md Ali Khan accompanied the CCM during the inspections.
