ELURU: The police have nabbed an auto driver for allegedly raping a minor within three hours of committing the crime here Tuesday.
According to deputy superintendent of police Sattibabu, a minor girl of Pedavegi village boarded the auto of Paleti Surya Raju (23), of the same village to go to college. Surya Raju allegedly took her to a lonely place at Vatlur on the outskirts of Eluru and raped her and fled the scene.
Later, the victim’s parents lodged a complaint with Pedavegi police. On a tip-off, the police arrested Surya Raju in a bar.
The DSP has appealed to women to lodge complaint with the police against those who harass them.
