VIJAYAWADA: Celebrations were held here at the Vijayawada Police Commissionerate to mark decision of the Andhra Pradesh government to make state's capital around the Vijayawada region.
Vijayawada Police Commissioner A B Venkateswara Rao on the occasion held yesterday said that the the region, which lies at the confluence of rivers Godavari and Krishna will have a great future.
He said the new capital will be developed keeping in mind the cultural greatness of Satavahana, Kakatiya and Vijayanagar kingdoms and will be a prosperous state.
