VSP Staffer, Wife Robbed ON TRAIN

VISAKHAPATNAM : Trusting ‘fellow passengers’ proved costly for an employee of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and his wife who were robbed of jewellery and other valuables worth `1.5 lakh while travelling by the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada DMU Friday. The Government Railway Police registered a case and took up investigation. The couple, Bhaskara Rao and Vasanthamani, Friday boarded the DMU at Visakhapatnam to attend a function in Vizianagaram district. They were reportedly offered tea by some ‘fellow passengers’ and after consuming the same, they fell unconscious within minutes. The offenders made away with jewellery weighing five tola.
