Panel on Krishna Delta Works Set Up

GUNTUR:  The state government is aiming at supplying water to the last point of ayacut area. Towards this end, the government would expedite modernisation works of the Krishna delta canal works basing on the experts committee report, Irrigation minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao has said.

Speaking at the review meet at the ZP Meeting Hall here Monday, he said the expert committee would be headed by Cherukuri Veeraiah Chowdary. The works would be initiated after the committee submits its report, he said and added that the committee would elicit the opinions of people’s representatives, officials and farmers’ associations before finalising the report.

The minister also said that the farmers should take care of kharif crops and rabi crops under canals as per the budget plan.
