VIJAYAWADA: The case against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Telangana police, filed here last week by Jerusalem Mathaiah, accused No: 4 in the cash-for-vote scam, has been transferred to the CID.

According to sources, the AP police have also transferred all the 87 cases registered against KCR in various police stations in the state on the day of Maha Sankalpam on June 8, the first anniversary of TDP's rule in the state, alleging that the KCR and his government had tapped telephones of the AP chief minister and AP ministers. Cases were registered under Indian Telegraph Act, Information Technology Act and various sections of IPC.

Ever since the decision was made at Hyderabad that the CID should probe Mathaiah's complaint as well as those filed in police stations by the Telugu Desam leaders, the Vijayawada Police got down to the act of transferring the cases to the CID.

Mathaiah, who has been at large ever since the scam broke out in Hyderabad surfaced in Vijayawada on last Wednesday and approached the Satyanarayanapuram police that he was being harassed to make a statement against the AP chief minister. The police, basing on the complaint lodged by him, registered a case under Sections 506, 507 and 387 of the IPC.

Mathaiah is alleged to have worked as go-between in the deal to bribe MLA Stephenson in return for supporting the TDP's MLC candidate a day ahead of elections to the legislative council. Later Mathaiah fled to Vijayawada and has holed himself up with his friends.
