Venkata Ramana (46). G Naga Praveen (14) is battling for life at KGH in Visakhapatnam.

According to Bobbili SI RPR Prasad,  Venkata Ramana was an electrician, farmer and a gambler at Gorlisitharampuram village. Police said that he lost a lot of money by gambling and the locals branded him as a psycho as he neither interacted nor had a friendly relation with anybody. He used to quarrel with his wife on petty issues. On Sunday night, Venkata Ramana came home as usual with fruit juices for his children and slept calmly after dinner. At Around 1 pm, he woke up and chopped the heads of his wife and their younger son who died on the spot. Their loud screams woke up the neighbours. Venkata Ramana in a hurry also chopped the elder son’s head and fled immediately. The neighbours rushed and found that the elder son, Naga Praveen was still alive and shifted him immediately to a nearby hospital and later to the KGH.

Though the locals thought that Venkata Ramana was at large, they found his body hanging from a tree in the morning. Police said that after attacking his family, the accused ran out of his house and committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree with un-used cable wires. Police said that they are yet to investigate whether Ramana was really mentally depressed or he committed the ghastly crime for some other reason. A case has been registered.
