HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Lokesh, who is being projected as the heir apparent, swung into action Tuesday and called upon his party cadres not to be disheartened by the Telangana government’s reported moves to nail Naidu in the cash-for-vote case.

Lokesh, coordinator of TDP Workers’ Welfare Fund, rushed to the NTR Bhavan by evening to interact with a large number of party workers who had flooded the party headquarters.

As soon as his car reached the party office, several TDP activists jostled to express their solidarity. Even as party workers tried to greet him, Naidu’s son consoled them, saying, “Please don’t be demoralised by the latest developments. These false cases won’t harm us. Be brave and be composed.”

Shifting his attack to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Lokesh said, “We have key evidence to prove that phones of AP ministers were tapped by the TS government. We will soon nail the culprits.”

He then accused KCR of behaving like a ‘galli leader by resorting to cheap politics’ and described his own father as a leader of national repute.

Kothakota’s Dramatic Twist

Hours after TS Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao said even God cannot not save Chandrababu Naidu in the cash-for-vote scam, Telangana TDP senior leader Kothakota Dayakar Reddy retaliated, claiming, “In a few hours from now, five key officers in the TS government will be arrested by the AP police for their role in the phone tapping issue.”

Kavitha Blasts Lokesh

Hitting back at Lokesh, TRS MP K Kavitha ridiculed him, saying, “Lokesh doesn’t have the stature to speak a single word against TS CM.”
