TIRUMALA:Complimenting the vigilance sleuths at TTD for successfully handling rush of pilgrims who thronged the hill town during summer vacation, TTD executive officer D Sambasiva Rao expressed his thankfulness to CV & SO G Nagendra Kumar and his team for their team work.
Addressing a review meeting at Annamaiah Bhavan at Tirumala on Tuesday, the EO said due to the increase in pilgrim flow to Tirumala, there was an urgent need to enhance the efficiency of TTD vigilance wing by increasing manpower as well as replace the existing security gadgets with advanced equipment.
He said more number of scanning machines at Alipiri check point, ‘Door Frame Metal Detectors’(DFMDs) at vital points, ‘Mist’ vehicles, fire extinguishers at important godowns, steel mobile units and safety lockers at Parakamani Hall inside the temple and CC TVs at all sub-temples of TTD should be installed wherever needed. He said manpower should be enhanced in the core areas of footpath routes, VQC II and scanning points especially during peak days to avoid inconvenience to pilgrims, he maintained. Later, the EO reviewed the core issues sectorwise for about two hours. Additional CVSO T Sivakumar Reddy, VGOs, AVSOs and VIs were also present. Time Slots for Rs 300-darshan Enhanced
With an aim to provide more comfortable darshan to pilgrims in a planned manner with definite time slot, the EO directed the IT wing to enhance time slots of Rs 300 on an experimental basis. Reviewing implementation of Rs 300 special entry darshan issue with temple and IT wing officials, the EO said in view of the next couple of months being a lean period, a trial run of darshan on Rs 300 tickets could be implemented by increasing the evening slots. He instructed IT wing head Sesha Reddy to negotiate with temple and vigilance wings and come out with a possible action plan in the next two days. Later, the EO inspected the ongoing works at PAC II and other places in Tirumala.
