VIJAYAWADA: Kosaraju Veeraiah Chowdary, better known as KV Chowdary, the new Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC), was felicitated by elite and elders in the city on Sunday.
A native of Krishna district, KV Chowdary got selected to IRS in 1978 and after discharging duties in different posts in the income tax department, was appointed CVC on June 9.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that there is need for protecting whistleblowers from those who are exposed by them. He felt that by effective checks, irregularities should be nipped in the bud.
Head of the anti-corruption watchdog underlined the need for taking the investigation in corruption cases to a logical conclusion in a time bound manner.
