CM Launches App for Better Policing

‘4th Lion’ is a mobile application developed by city police to help people avail themselves of prompt services

VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu released the ‘4th Lion’ mobile application, developed by the Vijayawada police for helping people to avail police services more quickly and effectively, here Sunday.

The CM observed that everyone wants security for themselves and their investments, and will feel safe when those responsible for providing that security reaffirm their commitment and reassure of providing the best.

Lauding the efforts of the Vijayawada police, he said that the unique mobile application would create more confidence in policing in the capital region and emphasised the utilisation of such technology for providing better services to citizens.

Expressing his happiness over popular actor Sai Kumar being roped in as the brand ambassador for the ‘4th lion’ mobile app, he said that when one is aware that there is no way they can hide from the police. If they do wrong, the crime rate will come down. When the punishment for crime is serious, it also helps in bringing down the crime rate and maintaining law and order. However, at the same time, the police should be unbiased and should refrain from overusing their force, he added.

Naidu assured to provide 10 to 15 Mbps Internet connectivity for every household in the state for just Rs 100 per month while explaining that such connectivity will help reach people more effectively and offer government services in a better manner.

He was all praises for Vijayawada stating that it was due to 150-year-old Prakasam Barrage that the region prospered. He promised to make the city as one of the beautiful cities in the world.

All android users can freely download the ‘4th Lion’ mobile app from the Google Play Store. The main aim of the app is to provide an opportunity for the public to report the offences and get immediate help. As many as 12 services are available in this app like Save Our Soul, Register Complaint, Suggestions, Public Transport Complaints, e-Challan, FIR Status, Vacation Information, Wholesale Rates, Movies Information and Bus/Train/Flight Timings. At present, the app is only available for android users and will be made available for iPhone and Windows mobile phone users soon.
