SSC Exams: 4 Debarred for Copying in Srikakulam

SRIKAKULAM: Amid allegations of mass copying at many exam centres, four students were debarred in the district for copying during the class X examinations here Thursday.

A student, who was appearing for Maths examination at NTR Municipal High School in Srikakulam, was caught red-handed by the officials while copying from slips and was debarred after taking a statement from him. Similarly, three students were debarred for mass copying in the exam conducted on Wednesday. However, sources alleged that mass copying is rampant in many centres, though the officials claim to have kept strict vigil.

Reacting to the issue, district educational officer Aruna Kumari brushed aside the allegations of mass copying stating that 156 flying and sitting squads were deployed to conduct the class X exams smoothly in as many as 189 centres in the district.
