VISAKHAPATNAM:Ten persons were injured, four of them seriously, as supporters of two political parties fought a pitched battle over displaying flexis at Kothatalarivanipalem village in Anakapalle Friday. The condition of the injured is said to be serious.
According to sources, TDP and YSR Congress supporters had placed flexis and posters during a local festival. On Friday, some of the members of a party made fun of the other party members over the flexis. The second group retaliated with mockery, which led to heated exchanges that rapidly deteriorated into a fist fight.
MLA P Satyanarayana visited the injured members in the hospital.
Police are conducting investigation.
