NELLORE:A jeweller was tricked by some unidentified persons into losing his bag containing two kg gold jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh at Atmakur on Friday.

According to police, the jeweller, V Umameheswara Rao, closed his shop on Thursday night and took the ornaments to his house as was his practice to avoid theft. The next day when he brought the jewellery bag back to the shop at 10.30, he noticed faeces lying in front of the shutters. To clean the place, he kept the bag by the side of the wall and went to the tap to bring water. In three minutes he was back with water, but to his consternation he found the bag missing.

He immediately alerted the police but it was too late. The miscreants had already vroomed on their bike.  However police said that they would arrest the miscreants very soon as they were caught by a CCTV installed outside the shop.
