VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) commissioner G Veerapandian has directed the officials concerned to take stringent action against the lethargic doctors and other staff at the urban health centres and also to maintain a register with the OP and medicine details of the patients.
During his ground-level inspection in Divisions 37 and 38 with corporation officials here Saturday, he fumed at a doctor in hill areas in Division 38 for not attending duty on time and enquired about the availability of medicines and also directed the engineering officials to carry out repairs for the walls in operation theatre in health centers.
The commissioner instructed the officials to take steps to repair the damaged steps and retaining wall at Gollapalem hill areas as the residents were facing problems and to extend the water pipeline on war-foot basis at Vadduri Street. Veerapandian pulled up the potters for occupying the space on road margins for doing business, which leads to traffic jams and asked the officials not to allow anyone to do business on road margins in Burada Street in Division 38.
