Report on Killings in Two Months: DRO

TIRUPATI: Post-mortem of the 20 labourers  from Tamil Nadu, who were gunned down by AP police on Tuesday, has revealed that they were shot at from a very close range. The deceased are said to be aged between 20-30 years. The investigation team set up a ‘help desk’ on the hospital premises to help families identified the bodies.

As per the directions of the district collector, DRO Vijaychander, who is conducting the inquiry on the encounter, said he will submit his report in two months.

Top officials of the Andhra Pradesh task force and Forest Department again visited the encounter site early on Wednesday and conducted a search operation in the area suspecting that red sander smugglers were still hiding in the forest.
