Cong Sees Shift in People's Thinking

VIJAYAWADA: APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy sees a shift in the thinking of the people. He believes that the people are feeling sorry for rejecting the Congress in the last general elections.

“They (people) are wondering whether they had committed  a mistake. TDP’s misrule has set them to this rethinking,” Raghuveera Reddy said on Thursday.

He was speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a meeting of the extended executive of the PCC at a resort near Mangalagiri in Guntur district.

The PCC chief said that the BJP was trying to shirk its responsibility from according special category status to Andhra Pradesh. He said that special category status was normally given by a resolution of the cabinet and therefore there is no need for its inclusion in the Act. “In all the cases of according special category status, the Centre had in the past did so by a cabinet decision,” the PCC chief said.

The meeting also adopted a resolution that the Centre should complete the Polavaram project by 2018.
