VISAKHAPATNAM:The Narsipatnam town police arrested four persons, including three from Solapur of Maharashtra, while transporting 40 kg ganja worth Rs 4 lakh in a car near the Govt Degree College at Narsipatnam Friday. They also seized Rs 1 lakh cash, three cell phones and the vehicle.
The arrested have been identified as D Bhagawat (48), Sangeetha Daseria (35) and Nagesh G Amre (42) of Solapur and J Matsayya of Chintapalle area in the district. Police said that the gang procured ganja from Chintapalle and packed it in a gunny bag. However, they were caught by the police during vehicular checking in the town. Police registered cases under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
