Will Develop State as Medical Hub: CM

VISAKHAPATNAM:Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu called upon the doctors and health institutions to cooperate with the state government in its efforts to develop Andhra Pradesh as a medical hub. Inaugurating the 16th Society for Gastro Intestinal Endoscopy Conference (ENDOCON 2015) in the city Friday, the chief minister said that his government has given top priority for the development of the health sector.

“We have a expert doctors in various disciplines, nurses rich in experience and skilled technicians in the state. The doctors in Andhra are rendering excellent services across the globe. As many as 40 per cent of the doctors in America are Indians and 25 per cent of them were from Andhra,” Naidu pointed out.

On the availability of experts in Gastroenterology, Naidu said that of the 12 Gastroenterologists who received global awards, two were Andhrites.

Considering the facts, the government has decided to promote medical tourism in the state. “I will provide hardware, you give the software, it is my appeal,” Chandrababu Naidu said.
