Overwhelming Response to TTD Fete

GUNTUR:Scores of devotees in the city had an opportunity for the first time to witness the dawn-to-dusk rituals of Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala, taking place in their own city, thanks to Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavam, being organised by Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) from Saturday for 10 days.

Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavam commenced with Suprabhatam at the replica of Tirumala Temple set up at police parade grounds, here.

The entire place turned into a  miniature of Tirumala with a large number of devotees turning up to offer prayers.

The devotees were able to witness the rituals like ‘Thomala’, ‘Archana’, ‘Sahasra’ ‘Deepalankarana Seva’ and ‘Ekantha Seva’ at the Ananda Nilayam replica.  Idols of the Lord and His Consorts were taken in procession as in ‘Thiru Veedhis’ of Tirumala.

On the concluding day of the event, Srinivasa Kalyanotsavam will be organised. Chaganti Kotes wara Rao explained the significance of each and every ritual in detail.

Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar and Dharma Prachara Parishad special officer Shriram Raghunath were present.
