VISAKHAPATNAM: The three-day national conference of Gastroenterology ENDOCON-2015 concluded on a high note at the department of gastroenterology in King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam city Sunday. Diagnostic and therapeutic single balloon and double balloon enteroscopy procedures were performed at the department by top doctors including Amit Maydeo, Patrick Okolo, Nalini Guda, Pankaj Dhavan, Nageshwar Reddy and Murali Krishna.
The role of Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) in rectal polyps was elaborately discussed and procedures were done using this method on poor patients. Endoscopy for large bowel and colon stenting were also performed on the occasion.
On the occasion, Dr. Nilay Mehta spoke about polypectomy which was performed on a patient. Doctors Pankaj Dhavan, Anthony Kalloo and David Carr Locke participated in the discussion on the scopes and other procedures.
Gastroenterology experts Patrick Okolo and Richard Sturgess shared their rich experiences with the participants. The management of complex conditions like zenkers diverticulum, laseroscope demo and intraductal ultrasonography were performed.
