China's Sichuan Province to Invest in Andhra Pradesh

Chandrababu Naidu, Sichuan governor Wei Hong explore possibilities of mutual cooperation

HYDERABAD: Suggesting to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to ensure that a continuous communication system is put in place for holding deliberations between Chinese companies and AP government, Sichuan governor Wei Hong extended his province’s support in the construction sector to the reorganised State.

On the fourth day of his visit to China on Wednesday, Naidu visited Chengdu.

There, Naidu and his team met Wei Hong, the governor of Sichuan.

Nominating one of his colleagues to work with AP, Hong said his province and AP could evolve as sister-States. “Our province is keen about AP’s culture and tourism sectors,” he told Naidu.

“Since AP is strong in higher education, we can collaborate for development of education,” Wei Hong added.

According to AP CMO’s press release, stating that his government was giving utmost importance to infrastructure, Naidu told Wei Hong that China’s story is a learning point for all to rise in the path of development.

Seeking to explore possibilities of mutual cooperation, Naidu briefed the governor about construction of new capital of the State.

“We have given utmost importance to infrastructure,” the Chief Minister mentioned. He also lauded the boom of industries in Chengdu.

He added that he understood the growth potential of the city en route the venue.

Stating that AP is strong in higher education, the governor showed keen interest in collaborating with AP in the education sector.

He also asked the Chief Minister to ensure a continuous communication system is put in place for deliberations between Chinese companies and Andhra Pradesh government.

The Chief Minister said India has various investment opportunities and invited the governor to visit AP.

Seeking to explore possibilities of mutual cooperation, the Chief Minister briefed the governor of the capital plan.

The AP delegation later attended the banquet hosted by the governor.
