Prakasam Leads in Toilet Scheme

ONGOLE: District collector GSRKR Vijay Kumar said that Prakasam district stood first in implementing Individual Household Latrines Scheme with the completion of 72,945 out of a total of 1,48,910 in the district.

Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, he said that about 948 partners were enrolled in the district for ‘Smart city - Smart ward’ project.

“We have identified 10,978 acres of barren land for the establishment of solar power plants in CS puram and Veligandla mandal for generation of 1,500 MW power. Proposals have been sent to the Central government regarding the establishment of industries in the identified 16,000 acres in Donakonda mandal,” collector said.
