Artificial Limbs Distributed to 147 Beneficiaries

VISAKHAPATNAM:As part of its golden jubilee celebrations, the Rajasthani Sanskritic Mandal (RSM), in association with Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and Department of Disabled Welfare organised a free distribution camp of artificial limbs to the needy here Sunday.

As the chief guest, city police commissioner Amit Garg distributed the artificial limbs to the beneficiaries and said that the spirit and opportunity of serving the needy will not knock the doors of all, and so felt that the RSM should be lauded for its services for the needy. He also mentioned they were earmarking a part of their monthly income for social service, which should be imbibed by all sections of people in order to help the underprivileged.

After its inaugural on April 3 by GVMC commissioner Pravin Kumar, the organisers of the camp conducted screening and other tests to the needy persons by taking measurements to prepare the artificial limbs. On Sunday, the authorities distributed the material to the beneficiaries.

RSM president Chandmal Agarwal said that as many as 147 beneficiaries from Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and Guntur districts aside from the neighbouring states of Odisha and Bihar benefited through the camp.

Uttarandhra Journalists’ Front general secretary N Nageswara Rao, RSM joint secretary Shankarlal and programme director Bijender Kumar Gupta were present.
