3 Die As KSRTC Bus Hits Lorry

CHITTOOR :Three persons were killed on the spot when a KSRTC bus collided head on with a lorry on National Highway 4 under the limits of Bangarupalem mandal in the early hours of Monday.

According to police, the bus going to Bengaluru from Tirupati hit the lorry coming in the opposite direction near a bus stop at Nalagampalle village in Bangarupalem mandal around 2.30 am on Monday.

Lorry driver Mohammad Babajan (27), cleaner P Venkataramanappa (38) and bus passenger K Lokesh (26), who was sitting in the front seat died on the spot.

Four other passengers in the bus sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital.  6 Students Injured: Six school students--five girls and a boy--were injured when a lorry hit a stationary APSRTC bus while the students were alighting, at Arakandriga village in Narayanavanam mandal.

The students were studying in ZP High School at Arakandriga. The condition of Surekha (11) was said to be critical.
