Murder Accused in Judicial Remand

ELURU: The Hyderabad police handed over Turapati Nagaraju, who was injured in a shootout at Saroor Nagar in Hyderabad, to the Eluru police on Wednesday evening. Nagaraju was remanded in judicial custody by a local court and he was lodged at West Godavari Central Jail.

Nagaraju, his sons Chiranjeevi and Shivaji, and seven others were accused of killing Bhutam Durgarao of Pinakadimi village in Pedavegi mandal of the district, long ago, and they were under trial. Recently, Nagaraju sustained bullet injuries during a shootout at Saroor Nagar in Hyderabad and was given treatment in a hospital. The Hyderabad Police took him into custody after he was discharged from the hospital and handed him over to the Eluru police.
