Training Camp on Software Technologies from June 8

VISAKHAPATNAM: Swecha, a non-profitable organisation aimed at advocating the usage of free software technologies amongst various sections of the society, in association with Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences (ANITS) is organising a 10-day industry-oriented training camp at ANITS campus from June 8.

Swecha, in cooperation with the industry and academia, has been organising workshops and technology camps to help students acquire requisite skills.

According to ANITS principal VSRK Prasad, the training camp would cover a wide range of technologies including software development, HTML-5, CSS-3, Firefox apps, multimedia, java script, geospatial information system (GIS), localisation, octave, open hardware, python, etc. All these technologies are in demand in the industry and would help students secure a bright career after graduation.

Apart from these topics, special focus would be given to interpersonal skills, team and leadership skills, communication skills, personal interviews and group discussions, sports and extra-curricular activities.

Experts from reputed organisations including Cisco, Thought Works, Infosys, TCS, CapGemini, IIIT, Deloitte, VMWARE, CSC, Wipro and Tech-M would take classes during the camp. The programme is aimed at training about 300 students from Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim and Chhattisgarh. The training will be in a residential form and covers utilisation of free open source operating systems like Linux and the tools that can be used to substitute apps and other useful software, he added.
