Itus Sports to Train Fire Men for Pushkarams

VIJAYAWADA: With over four crore people expected to visit the bathing ghats during the Godavari Pushkarams, the State government had called tenders in regard to training of fire personnel and it was bagged by Itus Sports and Safety Services Private Limited from Pune.

According to Amarprit Singh, Director of Itus, the company will be supplying state-of-the-art inflatable boats, rescue equipment and clothing for the AP State Disaster Response and Fire Service department. 

The company’s training partner Life Saving Society of India has been working with the National Disaster Rescue Force and has trained over 18,000 people.

Further, expert trainers from New Zealand will help in training the men in watermanship. 

Scott Busing, from Wellington, an expert driver of the Inflatable Rescue Boat, will be facilitating the training project in partnership with trainers from LSSI Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.
