VISAKHAPATNAM : In a tragic incident, two people suffered fatal head injuries and died when their motorcycle skidded off Simhachalam Ghat Road here Monday morning. Gopalapatnam SI (traffic) DVN Varma said that over speed was the reason behind the accident and the deceased were not wearing helmets, leading to their instantaneous death. The deceased were identified as N Naresh (29) and N Chiranjeevi (32), both in-laws and residents of Hanumanthuwaka area in the city. The duo was going to Simhachalam for darshan.
At a sharp turn of the ghat road, Naresh, who was riding the bike, could not control the vehicle due to over speed and the motorcycle skidded off the path. The duo sustained grievous head injuries and died on the spot. The passersby alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to government hospital for autopsy. Chiranjeevi is survived by wife and two children. The cops registered case and took up investigation.
