VIJAYAWADA: Here is good news for all the children who want to learn something extra in the summer vacations.
The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has announced a fun-filled special summer camp for children from May 1. The month-long camp will be held at 19 different locations in the city wherein kids will be trained in a wide variety of extracurricular activities including sports, arts and crafts, music and computers. VMC Traffic and Sports Committee chairman Chennupati Gandhi, who reviewed the arrangements here Monday, asked the officials concerned to ensure foolproof measures and good publicity for the summer camp, so that large number of children can avail the opportunity.
He asked the physical education trainers of schools to create awareness about the importance of sports for the overall development of children. Interested students can register their names at the centres designated for the summer camp, he added.
