Police Drive Auto Driver to Brink of Death

VIJAYAWADA:Upset over the police allegedly using abusive language at him, a middle-aged auto driver attempted suicide by throwing himself before a moving bus on MG Road here Tuesday evening,

According to sources, traffic SI Narayana shouted at the auto driver for parking his vehicle at PWD grounds at a no-parking area.

The sub-inspector then asked him to show his licence and permit him to operate his auto. As the SI was rude, the auto-driver felt humiliated and in a fit of emotion ran across the road towards a bus which was speeding towards him.

The alert driver stopped the bus just in time and averted what could have been a tragedy. The auto driver, however, received minor injuries. The police later sent him away.
