VIJAYAWADA: The police arrested Eede Renuka Rao, 19, for driving a 16-year-old girl Tejasri Manasa to commit suicide.
According to police commissioner AB Venkteswara Rao, the girl committed suicide by hanging in her house using her ‘dupatta’ at Sivapravatinagar in Yanamalakuduru on the outskirts of the city.
The police, in the course of investigation, found that Renuka Rao, who belongs to the same village as that of Tejasri Manasa, were once close but subsequently she distanced herself from him and was moving closely with two other boys.
Feeling jealous, Renuka Rao began threatening her that he had her videos with her two friends and that he would send them to her mother.
He would also abuse her over the phone. Frustrated over continuous harassment, the girl ended her life.
