Youth on Prowl with 'Injection Attacks' on Girls, Women

ELURU:He is at it again. Evading the police dragnet for the past one week or so, an unidentified motorcycle-borne youth has been unleashing terror in West Godavari district with pin prick attacks on girls and women injecting yet-to-be-identified substance into them.

According to police, the youth resorted to an ‘injection attack’ on a woman -- Adimulam Nagakumari (34) while she was sweeping the compound of her house at Goraganamudi village in Palakoderu mandal of the district early on Tuesday.

The woman, who is an APSRTC bus conductor attached to the Bhimavaram Depot, was immediately admitted to the government hospital at Bhimavaram by her neigbours.

The police said the miscreant came on a two-wheeler, committed the offence and fled the scene, creating panic in the area.

In another incident, the youth attacked one Akula Sindhu (13) of Kumudavalli Village while she was on her way to school.When she told her teachers about the incident, they admitted her to the same hospital.

Continuing his spree of attacks, the assailant gave a shot of injection to K. Parvati (26) of Kattavaripalem while she was standing on the road in the village. At Subbarajupuram, he  attakced two women --Pala Venkata Lakshmi (24) and Illa Kanaka Mahalakshmi (16) -- while they were walking on the road. Another woman -- N Sarojini (36) -- was attacked by the youth while she was on her way to a temple at Kesavaram village in Ganapavaram mandal. All of them were admitted to hospital.

Some students at Kumudavalli village informed the police that they had seen the youth riding a bike bearing registration number 3256.

The police launched a search for the miscreant.
